Troubleshooting

  1. Go to iOS Settings → TappRFID → Notifications and confirm Allow Notifications is on.
  2. Check for active Focus modes that might be filtering TappRFID.

  • Hold the phone near the top third of the back — that’s where the NFC antenna is.
  • Remove thick or metal cases — they can block NFC.
  • Confirm NFC is enabled: iOS Settings → General → NFC → iPhone NFC Reader.
  • Try a different sticker — the original tag may be locked or damaged.

See NFC Tags for full troubleshooting.

  3. Delete the widget and re-add it from the widget picker.

See Widgets for details.

After 3 days, TappRFID requires a plan selection to continue. Choose Local Lifetime for one-time access or a Cloud Plan for sync and Home Assistant.

If you already purchased and the paywall reappears after reinstalling:

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases.
  2. Sign in to your Apple ID if prompted.

Task status (overdue / due soon / on track) is calculated from the time of your last completion and the interval. If the status looks wrong:

  • Check that your device time zone is correct: iOS Settings → General → Date & Time → Set Automatically.
  • Open the task detail to see the exact last-done timestamp.

Data appears missing after restoring an iPhone backup

Section titled “Data appears missing after restoring an iPhone backup”

If you restored from an iCloud or Finder backup, your local data should be present. If tasks are missing:

  1. Check iCloud → Manage Storage → TappRFID to confirm the app’s data was backed up.
  2. If you use cloud sync, a manual sync from Settings → Cloud Account → Manual sync will restore any cloud-synced data.
