Widgets
TappRFID includes four widget types that surface live data on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, and StandBy. Widgets update automatically as you complete tasks.
Widget types
Section titled “Widget types”Task Overview widget
Section titled “Task Overview widget”Shows a summary of your tasks — how many are done, overdue, and due soon. Available in small and medium sizes.
What it shows:
- Done today count
- Overdue count
- Due soon count
- Optionally: a list of the next 2–3 due tasks (medium size)
Year Overview widget
Section titled “Year Overview widget”Shows the current year progress and your task completion rate.
What it shows:
- Year percentage elapsed
- Aggregate task completion rate
- A compact dot-grid (medium and large sizes)
Event Countdown widget
Section titled “Event Countdown widget”Shows the days remaining for a specific event you choose.
What it shows:
- Event name and emoji
- Days remaining
- Progress bar
Life Countdown widget
Section titled “Life Countdown widget”Shows your life horizon stat — years remaining, decades remaining, or life percentage elapsed.
What it shows:
- Configured life countdown metric
- Days or years remaining
Adding a widget
Section titled “Adding a widget”- Long-press the Home Screen to enter edit mode.
- Tap + (top left).
- Search for TappRFID.
- Choose a widget type and size.
- Tap Add Widget.
For Lock Screen widgets:
- Long-press the Lock Screen.
- Tap Customize.
- Select the Lock Screen layer.
- Tap a widget placeholder and choose a TappRFID widget.
Configuring a widget
Section titled “Configuring a widget”Some widgets let you choose which data they show:
- Long-press the widget on your Home Screen.
- Tap Edit Widget.
- Choose the event, task, or metric to display.

StandBy mode
Section titled “StandBy mode”On iPhone 15 and later running iOS 17+, widgets are visible in StandBy mode (landscape on nightstand). TappRFID widgets are StandBy-compatible.
Update frequency
Section titled “Update frequency”Widgets refresh when:
- You complete a task or add a log entry.
- The app moves to the background.
- iOS triggers a background refresh (typically every 15–30 minutes, subject to system decisions).
If a widget appears stale, open the app briefly to force a refresh.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Widget shows ”—” or no data:
- Open the app to ensure data is loaded.
- Long-press the widget → Edit Widget → reselect the data source.
- Delete and re-add the widget.
Widget not appearing in the picker:
- Open TappRFID at least once after installation.
- Restart your device if the widget is still absent.
